Cats, Rabbits & Birds - Oh My!

Simply Observing

Have you ever stopped to observe non-human animals in action? Perhaps in a group?

The next time you are around animals, I invite you to put your technological device down (pictures can wait) and simply observe them, look into their eyes, and/or watch them interact. I have always felt connected to animals and find their uniqueness to be part of nature's vast beauty. I give credit to and am grateful for my mom who allowed many animals at our home throughout my childhood - cats, dogs, hamsters, frogs, turtles, snakes, birds, and rabbits! I recall days filled with joy knowing that I get to be with them and nurture them.

What is even more beautiful is knowing that basic human emotions also exist in animals. Non-human animals have shown behaviors of compassion, friendship, communication, trust, and altruism. I hope you see this beauty in all living creatures!

I will now end this post with my favorite quote and ask that you take a moment to think how you can contribute in a positive way.

“The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.”
― Mahatma Gandhi

Can you post your contribution ideas? Thank you!
