Expressing Yourself

Do you ever feel tense about wanting to express yourself?

Do you ever hold back comments because you don't want to hurt someone's feelings?

Have you ever spoken up and had a great sense of relief, so much so that a weight literally leaves your body?

I grew up in a household where it wasn't comfortable talking about emotions or taboo subjects or situations that were confusing, painful or difficult - SEX, DRUGS, MONEY, DIVORCE to name a few!

If you answered YES to any of those questions, I can relate. With trust, time, therapy, and wisdom, I have learned to play with vulnerability. It was Brene Brown who enlightened me first about this topic and I am so grateful for her. Check out her blog here. I now practice allowing my voice to be heard and it feels so good. I believe each vulnerable moment we have is a chance to let our true selves shine and in doing so, creates an environment in which we are living that makes us more connected to our soul's purpose. This is a short journey on earth and we can live out our soul's deepest desires! How fun!

We all know life is short. Why not be fully self-expressed in all we are and all we do? There's beauty in that.
